how do I become a consigner?

A seasonal consignment is a sale that is held a few times a year over a few days.

All items marked 50% or have a dot are marked discounted.   If there is no mark the item may still be purchased at full price.

We try and pull every item off the floor that is not 75% off, so when you come in you do not have to sort through.  We are only human and some items may be left on the rack that is full price or only 50% off.

You will earn 70% of your sales.  You may earn more (up to 80%) by volunteering for work shifts.   Each 3 hour shift is 5%.

Can I get back items that did not sell?

Yes do not mark items as donate and they will be separated and boxed for pick up.  There will be a set time you will be asked pick up you items.  If you do not pick up by the designated time your items will be donated.   We must be packed up and out of the space Sunday night and will not be able to store items not picked up.

What can I consign?

Kids, baby, maternity and women’s seasonal clothing, shoes and accessories that is lightly worn and free of stains, rips and pilling.  We accept baby and kids gear that is safe to use and not recalled.  You may consign books, games and toys that are not broken and include all pieces.

Is there anything you won’t accept?

We will not accept dirty, pilled or ripped clothing.  All clothing must be tagged properly and not through the fabric.  We will not accept items that are deemed unsafe or recalled.  We will not accept toys that do not have batteries, all items must be in working condition.

Help this seems like so much work.

Don’t worry we have a Busy Moms program.   With Busy Moms you earn 50% of your sales.  We enter, price and tag your items.   All you have to do is bag or box them up and make an appointment to meet up with us to get your items.   You can earn an additional 5% by working volunteer shifts.

Where do you donate items that don’t sell?

We donate to local Cape charities and schools.   We have donated to A Baby Center, Independence House and local schools in the past.

Will I get back all my items that don’t sell?

We try to ensure all items are retuned however we rely on volunteers and sometimes things get placed in the wrong boxes.   Most times we find missing items a few days later, however Little Sea Star is not responsible for items that are lost or damaged.

What is the presale and who can go?

All consigners and volunteers can shop the presale.   Little Sea Star will also hold chances to win presale passes.

 Why should I Volunteer?

All volunteers that work a three-hour shift are able to enter the presale an hour early.   Each three-hour shift earns you an additional 5% of sales.

Can my children come or help with my volunteer shift?

We ask that you do not bring children to your volunteer shift.

What will you want me to do during a volunteer shift?

Volunteers will be asked to help set up and organize the sales floor and items.  At times there are lots of people and items get disorganized quickly.  Volunteers are also needed to help organize and sort clothing at the end of the sale for pick up and donation.

What if I have to cancel my volunteer shift?

If you need to cancel your shift you must notify us 24 hours before the presale start time.

Why should I share on my Facebook or put flyers up locally?

The more you spread the word the more people come and shop, meaning more money earned.   If you would like a flyer please email us at
